Happy 4th Birthday Kara!!

Mom and Grandma made her a Princess Castle Cake!
Check out the Ice cream cone spires!
On March 15th we Celebrated Kara's birthday with the family! (Her Daddy was in Florida for her actual birthday, the 12th, so we had to wait until he got back for the family party.)

She got many wonderful presents from the family! Thank you everyones, she is a very happy girl! From mom and dad she got her first "NEW BIKE!". She had been asking for one for months. We thought we had surprised her, but when she opened the "bike accessories" gift (before she got her bike) we asked her, "What are you going to do with this stuff, do you even have a bike to put it on?" She said "YES!!". I guess she just KNEW she was getting a bike for her birthday...and she was right! After so saw it, she wouldn't stop riding it around the kitchen table all night. Singing "I love mommy! Thank you mommy! You got me a bike!"

We had been going to the Public library each week to check out the movies she loves so much - Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty. Now thanks to Aunt Patti and Kisha she has them for her very own! She was SOOOO excited about that...really! Grandma made her this cute "neck pillow" for her bed. It's darling! Thank you Grandma and EVERYONE that came. She still talks about the party! Thank you for helping make our little girls Birthday special!

Green Eggs and Ham!

March 15, 2009. While mommy was away at meetings after church Daddy served Green Eggs and "Ham" (Bologna)! What a fun Daddy! They couldn't wait to tell mommy when I got home! What a fun way to celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday and St. Patricks day all in one!

Daddy created this lunch unsupervised, and that's why Kara is still wearing her beautiful "Easter/Birthday" dress from Auntie Colleen and Uncle Shawn. Boy was he lucky that we have a very neat eater for a daughter! Not a drop of green got on her beautiful dress! Way to go Kara!

Happy 4th Birthday Kara!

Kara's Fairtale Princess Party - March 12th, 2009.

Mommy did Kara's hair in an "up-do" like a princess. She was gorgeous!

On March 12th Kara turned 4yrs old! On the morning of her Birthday we had a "Princess Party" with all of her closest friends. All the princess arrived - many dressed up and we began with some games - "Princess says" (Simon Says) and "Frog, Frog, Prince" (Duck, Duck, Goose). Queen Sheryl told the fairtale of the kind and beautiful Princess Kara who lived in a far off land with her princess friends. Their job was to spread kindness all over the land. To do so they had to make their princess magic wands. After they each had made their wand, they found out that a wicked witch didn't like Kara and put a spell on her! In order to break the spell they had to find Dragon Eggs hidden all over the Kingdom! After searching for and finding the eggs, the spell was broken -- but the dragon was really mad at them for stealing his eggs, and now was after them! They had to make door hangers with sparkles, flowers and hearts (all things mean dragons don't like of coarse) to scare the dragon away from getting them when he came out at night! They all returned to the castle to discover that the Dragon and thrown all of the King's Treasures into the lake! They had to save the treasure by going "fishing" for all the precious jewels. They each got to keep one of the kings rings that they pulled from the lake as a Thank you to them for saving the day. After their big adventure they returned to the Castle for Princess Tiara snacks and cake for dessert. Each girl had a cupcake (placed upside down) decorated like a princess dress. They had to place their princess face on the top. After singing Happy Birthday to princess Kara they got to do some girlie glamour nail painting.

Thank you Mom for helping with the decorating of the princess dress cupcakes! And big Thanks to Sheryl O. for staying up late with me to finish the party details, and also to my good friend Cheryl for staying at the party with her daughter to help with the party also. With three Sheryl's (and 7 princesses) in one house, we could accomplish anything...and we DID! It was a big success!

A Little Glimpse of Spring!!

Kara and Trevor enjoyed the sunshine we got at the end of February (even if it only lasted a few days!) They could hardly remember the last time mom let them play outside without coats and boots! Trevor still played it safe by keeping his favorite Spiderman boots on from Auntie Colleen and Uncle Shawn. Their swingset from last year was like a brand new toy again! They had so much fun! We can't wait for summer!

Sibling Togetherness Time

Lately Kara has enjoyed "reading" to her little brother. She goes through books that she knows really well, and explains the pictures and story to Trevor (sometimes making up her on version along the way!) Trevor loves this and cuddles up next to her to listen to her story and soak up the attention from his big sister! I love my kids!

Happy Birthday Mom!

In February we enjoyed celebrating my Mother's birthday with the family! Sheryl worked on a Family calendar for her that will allow her to see pictures of all her kids and grandkids all year long! Happy Birthday Mom!

Our Little Gymnast

In January Kara started her first Gymnastic class. It is an 8 week course for 3-4yr olds. She loves it! Though she's been doing cartwheels all over the house all by herself for months, when her instructor asked her if she could do a cartwheel, she replied, "No." She won't perform for them at all, but in our living room, she can do whole gymnastics routines all on her own!

Dressed up in her leotard, waiting for her Gymnastics class to begin.

Can't get out of the Christmas Dress!

Kara looked so Beautiful in the Christmas Dress from Aunt Shirley we had to wear it in January too! Kara would beg to wear this dress everyday - and she did for many days! Each time she made a promise to her mommy to never eat or go outside in it. (It was her Mom's favorite too!)She kept her promise, the dress is still in perfect condition. Do you think she could still wear it in spring?
